What is FusionDesk?

A Windows software mixer built around a 32 x 32 stereo matrix. It handles audio routing, sandboxed VST3 processing with MIDI support, direct recording, and monitor control across ASIO, Windows Audio, and Per-Application Audio Capture - all in one always-visible, console-style interface.

What do I need to run it?

• Windows 10 2004+ or Windows 11, 64-bit.
• An ASIO driver is recommended for low-latency monitoring and stable routing.
• Windows Audio (WASAPI) devices also work, with a little more latency.
• Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022 is required for Per-Application Audio Capture.

ASIO or Windows Audio - which should I use?

Both, and you can mix them in one session. ASIO gives the lowest latency and is best for live monitoring and instruments. Windows Audio devices are fine for playback and capture. Virtual ASIO drivers such as Dante Virtual Soundcard and ASIO4ALL simply appear as normal ASIO devices.

Can it capture audio from other apps?

Yes. Per-Application Audio Capture turns a browser, game, media player, DAW, or call app into a mixer input you can route, process, and record like any other channel. This feature requires Windows 11 or Windows Server 2022.

Will my plugins work? What if one crashes?

FusionDesk hosts VST3 effects and instruments in a sandbox isolated from the mixer. If a plugin crashes or hangs, FusionDesk bypasses it and keeps the audio running - then lets you reload the slot without restarting. A faulted slot shows a red indicator so you can spot it at a glance.

Can I record?

Yes - record inputs and outputs to WAV, FLAC, or MP3. Loop capture keeps a rolling buffer so you can export the last moments after they happen, and a recording readout shows disk space, rate, and time remaining before a long take.

Why does Windows warn about an "unrecognised app"?

During the beta the installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen. It is safe to proceed: click More info, then Run anyway. Code-signing is planned for the public release, which removes the warning.

How much does it cost, and how do I get it?

FusionDesk is in active beta. You can request a beta to try it now, or leave your email to be notified at launch. Pricing will be announced closer to release.
